About Me

Dr. Julieann Murella is a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. Being a Naturopathic Physician and East Asian Medicine Practitioner, she enjoys combining both Eastern and Western Medicine approaches as she feels it allows her to offer more treatment options for her patients.

She grew up in the Bay Area in California, and received a bachelor’s in science degree in biochemistry. Dr. Murella has always had a special interest in health and fitness as she grew up as an athlete playing basketball and volleyball. She found naturopathic medicine working as an AmeriCorps member and medical assistant at a community health clinic, where she learned that there is need for preventative medicine in our healthcare system. In aims to become a more holistic medical practitioner, she sought to become a naturopathic physician to learn how to address the root cause of a disease using integrative medicine. While at Bastyr University, she gained a special interest in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture as it provided an energetic perspective to medicine. She developed a passion for addressing health issues from a scientific and energetic lens.

Dr. Murella is an integrative family medicine practitioner with special focuses in women’s health, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic disorders, chronic infections, pain management, and endocrine and hormone disorders. She particularly is passionate about educating her patients on how to live a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing a whole foods diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management. She truly believes that achieving optimal health is addressing emotional, physical and spiritual needs. She enjoys building trusting relationships with her patients to empower them and help them be the healthiest and the most authentic versions of themselves.

Dr. Murella is trained in various modalities such as trigger point therapy, prolotherapy and prolozone, regenerative injections, IV therapy, hormone replacement therapy, and craniosacral therapy. She has provided first aid and sports medicine at large sporting events such as the Seattle Marathon, the Emerald City Volleyball Tournament, the Gigantic Bike Festival, and the US Gaelic Football Olympics.

In her free time, Dr. Murella enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, exploring new cuisines, exercising, reading, karaoke, playing her ukulele, and snowboarding.
